Three believed to be dead in Lamar County plane crash

LAMAR COUNTY (KYTX) - Three people are dead after a private plane crashes in the south-central section of Lamar County, according to the Sherman Department of Public Safety.

Troopers say the plane had just left a local Lamar County airport and because of an unknown reason, was heading back towards the airport when it crashed.

The plane came down .3 miles south of CR 13850 south of Paris. There were only three people on board and all died in the crash.

The planes was a Piper Meridian aircraft, tail number Nov 5339V.

The FAA is on scene investigating. We will bring you more information as we get it.
