Three dead in Eastland County plane crash

RANGER (WFAA) - All three people aboard a small plane were killed when it crashed in Eastland County late Saturday night, the FAA said.

Spokesman Lynn Lunsford said the single-engine Lancair went down around midnight shortly after taking off from Cook Canyon Ranch Airport.

The crash site is a wooded area about three miles northwest of Ranger, Lunsford said. It is 82 miles west of Fort Worth.

Records indicate the four-seat aircraft was registered to River Bend Energy LLC of Arlington. The names of the victims have not been released.

The National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the cause of the crash.
