East Texas (KYTX)- Good morning and happy Friday Eve!
Low morning clouds will give way to a partly/mostly sunny day again. Highs yesterday across East TX officially hit the upper 90's. We'll top out near 97 again today. We still have yet to hit 100 degrees this summer.
Temps are not expected to dip over the weekend. Highs will sit in the upper 90's under mostly sunny skies under the influence of high pressure. The ridge aloft will start to weaken by the first of next week. This will allow a 20% chance of scattered afternoon/eve thunderstorms again on Tuesday/Wednesday.
Computer models are hinting at the possibility of a tropical system forming over the western Atlantic early/middle part of next week. We'll be monitoring this if it develops. Until then, August-like heat continues with little chance of rain over the next five days.
Have a great Thursday!
