Thursday's Weather: Light sprinkles are possible this morning with an increase in rain expected...

EAST TEXAS (KYTX) - Happy Thursday!

The Arctic Express has arrived and is ploughing into East Texas this morning. Light sprinkles are possible this morning with an increase in rain expected this afternoon and tonight.  Just liquid form today - and with temps remaining above freezing most of the night, the change-over to freezing rain is not expected across most of East Texas until late morning Friday.

An Ice Storm Warning starts at 4 am Friday through 6 pm Friday. Dry and cold Friday night. Freezing rain begins again Saturday late morning through noon Sunday, our most critical time for ice accumulations on bridges and overpasses, trees and power lines. The threat for frozen precipitation ends at noon on Sunday. Temperatures drop into the mid-30's this afternoon, hover above freezing tonight, and then drop into the upper 20's during the day Friday. Lows Sat morning near 26. Highs Saturday near 33.

Travel is discouraged this weekend.
