EAST TEXAS (KYTX) - Happy Thursday morning!
The summertime weather pattern will continue across the Lonestar state today. Expect mostly sunny skies across East Texas with additional clouds dropping south of the Red River later this morning and this afternoon. A disturbance dropping into the central plains will trigger rain/thunderstorms to over Oklahoma and Arkansas this morning. As afternoon approaches, there is a 20% chance we may see a few widely scattered and spotty showers/thunderstorms around East Texas.
Highs today should reach 94, up to 96 on Friday. The high will build overhead this weekend, bringing with it hotter temperatures in the upper 90's. Only a slight chance of isolated afternoon/evening thunderstorms Friday through Sunday. A weak cool front approaches next Tuesday increasing our rain chances slightly then.
Have a great Friday Eve!
