Timeless grocery store in Marshall gets a new owner

(KYTX) - Times are changing for a nearly century-old independent grocery store in East Texas.

Abraham's Food Town in Marshall changed ownership recently. The store had remained in the Abraham Family since it first opened in 1920.
After running the store since 1983, Brian Abraham decided to retire, selling it to local businessman Jesse Singh. Singh promises to make only minor changes.

"All of the employees that's been here a long time are still here. Nothing is changed," says Virginia, employee at Abraham's.

"It's just that Mr. Abraham wanted to retire so they can spend more time with his grandchild and do more things for himself, because he was working seven days a week."

Abraham's plans to add a gas service pumps as early as Thanksgiving.
