TYLER (KYTX) – CSCOPE, a curriculum management system aligned with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS), now provides access to lessons for parents and community members to view online at mycscope.us.
CSCOPE created the site to enhance public understanding of the curriculum and increase transparency. The public CSCOPE site includes a new feature that allows parents and community members to access CSCOPE lessons without having to enter a username and password.
Parents and community members can visit mycscope.us, select a grade level and subject area, and view the possible lessons for each unit. Teachers have the discretion to use the lessons, adapt lessons, or not use the lessons, as they see fit. Therefore, posted lessons may not represent actual classroom instruction.
CSCOPE lessons accessible for public viewing are the same lessons provided to districts, with the exception of material that may be used for grading or student assessment, such as answer keys.
Social Studies lessons are not currently posted on the website, as they are under review per the State Board of Education (SBOE), according to a memo recently released by CSCOPE. Information on posting of CSCOPE Social Studies lessons will be forthcoming based on the timeline set by the SBOE.
