TMB restricts Houston physician

HOUSTON (KYTX)- On June 19, a disciplinary panel of the Texas Medical Board temporarily restricted, with notice, the Texas medical license of Houston physician Joel Joselevitz, M.D., after determining his continuation in the unrestricted practice of medicine poses a threat to public welfare.

The restriction was effective immediately.

The restriction prohibits Dr. Joselevitz from prescribing Schedules II - V.

The temporary restriction was based on the panel's findings that Dr. Joselevitz's care and treatment of 17 pain patients demonstrate a pattern of practice of substandard care and non-therapeutic prescribing.

The temporary restriction remains in place until the Board takes further action.
