HOPKINS CO. (KYTX) - An autopsy has been ordered on the body of a two-and-half year old boy found floating in a pond near his home on County Road 4735.
Hopkins County authorities say a passerby found the child and was able to pull the little boy from the water and began administring CPR until paramedics arrived. The boy was transported to the hospital where he died a short time later.
The parents told authorities that the toddler was being looked after by his older teenage brother while they went to run an errand.
No foul play is suspected according to Hopkins County Sheriff's Chief Investigator Lewis Tatum.
