Hattiesburg, MS (KYTX/CBS) - A tornado rips through Hattiesburg, Mississippi hitting the University of Southern Mississippi Campus.
Police declared a state of emergency and asked all students not on campus to stay away from the university. Investigators say there were no severe injuries. The twister is part of a string of severe storms that swept through much of Louisiana and Mississippi Sunday.
The Hattiesburg public school district has cancelled school for today because of storm damage. At least four thousand homes are still without power.
