From The Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office:
NACOGDOCHES CO. (KYTX) - The Nacogdoches county sheriff office has arrested a Hudson woman after methamphetamine was found in her vehicle. Sheriff Jason Bridges stated that deputies conducted a traffic stop on a Nissan Altima occupied by Dawn Cummings and a four year old child around 7:30 pm Monday night.
Deputies stopped the vehicle for a traffic offense on highway 59s. Deputies observed that Cummings was acting suspicious and very nervous during the traffic stop. Deputies obtained consent to search the motor vehicle and found four packages of crystal methamphetamine in the center console that had a total weight of 3. 5 grams.
Upon further investigation it was found that Cummings was delivering the narcotics to a residence in Nacogdoches County. Deputies also discovered that Cummings had more narcotics at her residence in Hudson, Texas. The Nacogdoches Sheriff Office, along with Angelina County Sheriff Office and Hudson Police Department went to Cummings house in Hudson. Deputies obtained consent to search the residence and also located more drugs inside the house.
Deputies found 10 more grams of crystal methamphetamine, 6 grams of cocaine and several different types of prescription medication at Cummings residence.
Cummings was booked into the Nacogdoches county Jail on Possession of Controlled Substance charge a 3rd felony and Endangering a child a 2nd felony. Cummings remains in the Nacogdoches County Jail under a 17,500 dollar bond.
Sheriff Bridges stated that additional charges are expected to be file don Cummings in Angelina County on the narcotics that were found at her residence. The four year old child was turned over to Child Protective Services.
