Troopers use spikes to stop man during high speed chase near I-20

(KYTX) - One man is under arrest after a high speed chase that started in Cherokee County. 

Department of Public Safety Trooper Jean Dark says 57-year-old Garland Wayne Shattuck of Chandler was taken into custody after he led troopers on a high speed chase that started near Bullard Thursday afternoon.

The chase went up Highway 69 to the Toll Road 49.

Troopers  used a spike strip to blow out the car's tires after Shattuck drove onto interstate 20. He was taken to a local hospital and later jailed for evading arrest,

Shattuck remains in the Smith County jail on a $2,000 bond.
