Troup FD helps rescue girl from well

TROUP (KYTX) - Troup Fire Department rescued a girl who fell in a well Saturday night.

It happened in the 22000 block of County Road 2142 just north of Troup.

The 10-year-old was sitting on top of a well when she fell through the lid and crashed into the water. A family member jumped in to help the girl stay above water until authorities arrived to help pull them out.

The girl was pulled out with minor injuries but was taken to a local hospital for tetanus shot.

Troup Fire Department, Troup Police Department, and Smith County Sheriff's Office all assisted with the rescue.
