Truck drives off 100-foot cliff, kills 2

SPICEWOOD (CNN) - Two people are dead and another is hurt after their truck drove off a cliff.

This happened in Travis County Saturday night. Police say the three men were visiting the Resort Ranch of Lake Travis in Spicewood. Some kind of way, they drove off a 100 foot cliff near the resort marina, landing about 50 feet from the water's edge.

The owner of the property saw the men driving around in a 4-wheel drive pick-up truck. At midnight -- a call came in to 9-1-1 from one of the men. He was pinned underneath the truck.

"There were roads out there but they weren't paved. Maybe they got lost or turned around. I know walking back there I got turned around two or three times. Because it's very thick brush grown over the roadway that's there," Lt. Steve Rudkin of the Pedernales Emergency Services.

Crews spent an hour and a half working to free the only survivor of the crash. He was taken to a hospital in Austin. We don't know anything about his injuries. Investigators are still trying to figure out what caused this horrific crash.
