Two arrest in Titus Co cattle theft

MT. PLEASANT (KYTX) - On Tuesday Evening, May 27th, 2014, Titus County Sheriff's Deputies arrested two suspects who were attempting to sell a calf at the sale barn in Mt. Pleasant under suspicious circumstances.

In cooperation with TSWCA Ranger Tony Hurley, Stone Livestock Commission, and Titus County Sheriff's Office the stolen calf was recovered and two subjects were arrested for felony theft.

The calf was allegedly picked up on Hwy 49 as a "stray" however; the suspects failed to notify the Sheriff's Office as required by law. It is believed the calf was still suckling and was taken from its cow and that the cow will likely be bowling looking for the missing calf this morning.

Anyone with information to help identify the origins of the calf are asked to contact Titus County Sheriff's Office and make contact with Investigator Wayne Minor. We have attached photos of the suspect's vehicle and trailer.
