Tyler council approves $401K for animal control facility

(TYLER MORNING TELEGRAPH) - Tyler City Council today gave the go-ahead for execution of a $401,844 contract with Freese and Nichols, Inc. for full design of the city's animal care facility project.

According to city council communication, after analyzing current animal control operations, which was done as part of the Lean Six Sigma initiative, it was determined that there was a need for the facility, which will be located on property the city purchased at 4218 Chandler Highway.

"This property will be renovated in phases to accommodate animal control, a holding facility, and adoptions," according to the council communication.
