Tyler mall shooter pleads guilty to aggravated assault

TYLER (KYTX) -- Ricky Neal, Jr. pleaded guilty to aggravated assault Monday relating to a second victim in the February 2013 Broadway Square Mall shooting who was injured but not killed.

The agreement involves a 5-year prison sentence while will run concurrently with the existing life sentence Neal received for murdering 23-year-old Christopher mass during that shooting.

Neal will be eligible for parole after serving thirty years of his sentence. Monday's plea agreement does not affect the total time Neal could potentially spend in prison.
