Tyler Police: car stolen, set on fire

Tyler Police Department:

TYLER (KYTX) - On Sunday, January 13, 2012 at 8:15 p.m., Tyler Police Officers were dispatched to a gas station located at 1516 S. Vine in reference to a stolen vehicle.  The victim stated he parked his 1999 Chevy Suburban in front of the business and walked inside. 

A short time later, when he exited the business, he discovered his vehicle was gone.  At 8:42 p.m., the Tyler Fire Department was dispatched to 2626 WSW LOOP 323 (Tyler Ford Dealership) where they discovered a vehicle on fire.  During the investigation, they discovered the vehicle on fire was the same vehicle that had been stolen approximately 30 minutes earlier from the gas station. 

Several new vehicles that were parked in the dealership parking lot were also damaged due to the fire.  At the time of this press release, there is no suspect information.
