Tyler Police investigate three aggravated robberies

TYLER (KYTX) - Tyler Police are investigating three aggravated robberies. 

9:38 p.m. Sunday night, officers were dispatched to 5709 Mustang Trail in reference to an aggravated robbery that had just occurred. When officers arrived on scene, the caller stated he had been robbed at gunpoint. The suspects were described as two black males wearing dark colored hoodies. The victim stated one of the suspects struck him in the head with a handgun and stole his cellphone. The suspects then quickly left the area on foot. The victim sustained minor injuries.

A few minutes later, at 10:12 p.m., officers were dispatched to 1909 Sybil Lane in reference to an aggravated robbery that had just occurred. The caller told police that two black males wearing dark colored hoodies approached her. One of the suspects pointed a handgun at her and stole her debit card. The suspects then left the area on foot. No injuries were reported.

And, at 10:57 p.m., officers were dispatched to 2103 W. Jackson Street in reference to an residential burglary that had just occurred. The caller stated three black males knocked on the callers residence. When the caller answered the door, the three suspects entered the residence and pointed a handgun at her demanding money. One of the suspects was a heavy set male wearing a dark colored hoodie. The second suspect was tall and thin wearing a black T-shirt. There is no description on the third suspect. The suspects stole two cellphones and left the area on foot. No injuries were reported.

Due to the descriptions of the suspects and the times at which these incidents occurred, it is believed these three crimes are related.

These crimes are currently under investigation. Anyone with information in this case is urged to contact the Tyler Police Department at 903-531-1000 or Tyler/Smith County Crimestoppers at 903-597-CUFF. Crimestoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest and charges filed against the suspects in this case or any other felony case.
