Tyler Police looking for man who tried to rob fast food worker

TYLER (KYTX) - Tyler Police are looking for a man who tried to rob a fast food worker. 

Around 12:07 Wednesday morning, officers with the Tyler Police Department responded to 4014 S. Broadway. An employee of Arby's was leaving work and getting into her vehicle. After unlocking her vehicle she got into the driver's seat and attempted to close the door. An unknown subject grabbed the door and prevented her from closing it. He then sprayed her with mace and pulled her from the vehicle. He then ran around her vehicle and got into the passenger side door and proceeded to rummage through her vehicle. At this time the victim fled the scene and ran to McDonalds next door. An employee there called 911. The suspect had fled the scene prior to the arrival of officers. The victim reported nothing appeared to be stolen at this time.

The subject was described as a male subject wearing all black with a black ski mask that had a skull print on the front. No other description is available at this time. The victim suffered no physical injuries other than those commonly associated with getting sprayed by mace.

Authorities do not believe this robbery is connected with the other robberies in Tyler, Smith County Crimestoppers tells CBS 19.

Anyone with information in this case is urged to contact the Tyler Police Department at 903-531-1000 or Tyler/Smith County Crimestoppers at 903-597-CUFF. Crimestoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest and charges filed against the suspects in this case or any other felony case.
