North Tyler home raid leads to drug arrest

TYLER - One person was arrested Thursday after Tyler police raided a home on the city's north side.

Around 6:30 a.m., SWAT officers executed a search warrant at a home in the 500 block of Valentine Street. Patrol officers and a K-9 unit also assisted.

Investigators arrested Aubrey Ray Wilbanks, 60, following their search.

Wilbanks was charged with with Manufacture and Delivery of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine), a second degree felony. He was also charged with Possession of Dangerous Drugs, a class A misdemeanor.

Investigators also located firearms and stolen property inside the residence while conducting the search, according to a TPD press release.

Wilbanks was still being processed into the Smith County Jail on Thursday afternoon.

CBS19 spoke with one neighbor who said he had noticed increased activity in the neighborhood over the past year.
