Tyler police searching for armed robber

TYLER (TYLER MORNING TELEGRAPH) - The Tyler Police Department was looking for an armed man who robbed a dollar store Monday evening.

The clerk at the Family Dollar Store, 510 South-Southwest Loop 323, told officers a man pulled up his shirt to flash a handgun and demanded money around 9:45 p.m., according to a news release from the department.

After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, he ran north across Front Street into a wooded area, the release states. Officers searched the woods but were unable to find the bandit.

The man was described by the clerk and a witness as a black male between 6 feet and 6 feet, 2 inches in height and weighing between 160 and 170 pounds. He was wearing a dark ski mask with shark emblem on it, a white shirt, dark jeans and was wearing a dark hooded jacket. He had a sty under his right eye.

No one was injured during the incident.

Crimestoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest and charges filed against the suspects in this case, or any, felony case.
