Tyler Rescue Ministries clothing drive

TYLER (KYTX) - Tyler Rescue Ministries is asking you to clean out your closet for a good cause.

Donated clothes and shoes are sold to an agency that brings them to third world countries and victims of disaster. Proceeds go to needy families in Tyler. Tyler Rescue Ministries Executive Director Maurice Barnes says $70,000 pounds of clothing will bring in about $16,000.

"That's a lot of money to help hurting families who are homeless and need help now in the Tyler area."

Tyler Rescue Ministries is collecting clothes and shoes at Solitaire mobile homes until December 15. You can ask for a receipt for a tax write-off after your donation.
