TYLER (KYTX) - Tyler's Veterans Affairs Primary Care Clinic is moving forward with a ten-thousand square foot expansion.
The expansion does not need Congressional approval because it already meets spatial and monetary requirements. Costs for the current fiscal-year would be estimated at $1.2 billion. Any expansion over ten-thousand feet would need to be approved.
VA Operations administrators say the expansion is necessary.
"The expansion would include primary care services, some pharmaceutical consultation, optometry, expansion of telecare in the mental health area," said Lehebron Farr Veterans Affairs Operation Manager.
The location of the new building is not being released yet, but it should open in late 2013 or early 2014. The current building will stay in operation.
