U.S. Postal Service announces plan to cut costs

(CBS) - The end of an era at the post office may be near. 

Starting in August, The U.S. Postal Service will end Saturday home delivery of letters and other first-class mail, but will still deliver packages. The Post Master General made the annoucement today. The postal service lost $16 billion dollars last year. They have already slashed hours and trimmed its workforce by 35 percent.
