CDT March 14, 2014 CONNECT TWEET LINKEDIN GOOGLE+ PINTEREST KILGORE (KYTX) - According to Kilgore Dispatch, an East Texas highway has been reopened after an 18 wheeler slammed into the back of a TxDot work truck. This wreck occurred on Highway 259 just south of I-20 in Kilgore happened just after 8 a.m Friday. The occupant of a TxDot work truck had to be removed from the truck with the jaws of life. He was taken to Good Shepherd in Longview. His injuries are unknown. Assistant Fire Chief of the Kilgore Fire Department Michael Simmons says it took hours to clean up the wreckage due to the large amount of diesel fuel spilled by the semi. The driver of the 18 wheeler was not hurt. Investigators say the driver of the 18-wheeler was behind the TxDot convoy and became distracted by a GPS inside his semi.
