Update: Burglary suspect in custody, others sought

UPDATE: Through a Crimestoppers hotline tip, Brandy Hedricks, 28, was taken into custody for questioning in Jacksonville, Texas, late in the evening on May 15.

Other unnamed suspects are still being sought in conjunction with these crimes. Call Crimestoppers at 903-597-CUFF (2833) if you have information.


Smith County Sheriff's Office:

TYLER (KYTX) – A joint investigation between the Smith County Sheriff's Office and Henderson County has led to the arrest of Joshua Shapley, 30, in connection with several thefts and burglaries in southwest Smith County and eastern Henderson County.

During traffic stop on April 25, a DPS Trooper found a gun, television and jewelry inside Shapley's vehicle. It was determined that these items were from a burglary he had just committed in Frankston. Shapley is currently in the Henderson County Jail facing charges and is expected to face additional charges in Smith County.

Officials are asking for the public's help in locating Brandy Hedricks, 28, who is a known associate of Shapley's.

Crimestoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Hedricks and any other individuals who are suspected of being part of these same thefts and burglaries. If you have information, please call Crimestoppers at 903-597-CUFF (2833).
