UPDATE: Capital One bank investigator now bank suspect

TYLER (KYTX) -  The suspect in the Tyler Capital One bank robbery two weeks ago is behind bars. A joint investigation between Tyler police and the FBI ended with the arrest of 37-year-old Daniel Burson of McKinney. Burson allegedly held up employees in the parking lot at the south east Tyler bank.

CBS 19's Katiera Winfrey explains how Burson's connection as a bank security consultant may have aided in his possible participation in the robbery.

Burson is believed to be the "well dressed robber" in that August 11 bank robbery. Witnesses told police the suspect had been dressed in a suit with nylon stocking covering his face. Now investigators say they have enough information to place burson at the scene of the crime.

Two weeks after bags of money were stolen from bank employees at this capital one on New Copeland and the loop in Tyler, law enforcement believe they have the man responsible.

Burson is a corporate security consultant investigator for Capital One: The bank company that he allegedly stole from.

"I would say it's pretty shocking due to the fact that most of time when you're dealing with that type of a caliber of person you're dealing a person that has good morals and standards and morals 9 out of 10 won't do something like this," said Tyler Police spokesman Don Martin.

As a corporate security consultant Burson's job is to provide security advice to capital one banks across the region.

"So it's not uncommon for him to travel to go to other cities and look at what's going on at other banks," said Martin.

Capital One released a statement today saying:

"We take the safety and security of our associates very seriously. We have security protocols in place to include working closely with the     appropriate authorities to investigate any and all threats and help protect and ensure the safety of our associates. We have and will     continue to cooperate with the FBI and their investigation into this matter."

Police say early into the investigation, Burson was on their radar.

"The big break in the case came basically when information was given to us that this suspect was driving a vehicle that pretty much matched the description of the suspect vehicle. And investigators started taking all that information in and the pieces of the puzzle started falling into place."

If Burson is convicted he could face 20 years behind bars.
