UPDATE: Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Sylvia Jennings said this afternoon that charges of criminally negligent homicide will be filed against a driver in the two-vehicle wreck Monday that claimed two young lives.
Emmarie Dawn Adams, 7, died Wednesday at a Dallas children's hospital. Her sister, Chloe Elizabeth Adams, also 7, died in the wreck Monday.
According to Jennings, the two girls were riding with their mother, who was stopped in the left lane of Texas 49 traffic trying to make a left turn when she was rear-ended by a truck driven by 74-year-old Herbert Parr, of Mount Pleasant.
Jennings said DPS is filing criminally negligent homicide charges against Parr. It is not known if Parr has been arrested, but the decision to pursue those charges in criminal court now rests with the Titus County District Attorney, Jennings said.
