UPDATE: Family increases reward amount for whereabouts of missing Longview man

UPDATE: LONGVIEW (KYTX) - The family of the missing Longview man is now offering a $5,000 reward to anyone who provides any helpful information on his whereabouts.

LONGVIEW/GREGG COUNTY (KYTX) - Both the mother and brother of Ronnie Joe Gammage Jr. who most know as Ron say he has been missing for exactly one week today. His mother says after she hadn't received any returned phone calls from him for FOUR days -- she knew something was wrong with her son."

"He's always called me contacted me nearly everyday, never less than 2."

Days kept passing by and 27 year-old Ronnie Joe Gammage Jr. wasn't returning any of his mother's phone calls. She said she really got worried when calls started going straight to voice mail.

"I'm just afraid something bad has happened to him."

After 4 days of not hearing from her son, Ms. Gammage stopped by his apartment and the Waffle House where she says he goes everyday.

"And there the truck sit, so I thought Oh there he is, but he wasn't there."

"Ronnie's mother reported him missing on Saturday, December 8th and that was the same day Longview Police found his tan Chevrolet pickup truck in the parking lot of this Waffle House on Loop 281 with the tires slashed."

"He would never leave his vehicle or be without his cell phone working."

Charles Ramsey is Ronnie's older brother. He says Ronnie suffers from a mental disability making it easy for someone to take advantage of him.

"He's too kind hearted, he's gullible and he'd believe almost anything anybody would tell him."

"It's the worst thing in the world not to know where one of your children are and to know he has a disability and that he's been taken advantage of."

But detectives still have no sign of Ronnie Joe Gammage Jr.

"R.J. you need to call your mama, and you need to come home. Do whatever you gotta do to come home."

"Anyone please help me find him, help me."

Ms. Gammage says Ronnie was last seen wearing a short sleeve T-shirt, Wrangler blue jeans and brown cowboy boots and again the family is offering $1,000 reward to anyone who provides any helpful information on his whereabouts.
