UPDATE: Identity released of man recovered from Lake Palestine



UPDATE: Wednesday, September 4, 2013/HENDERSON COUNTY (KYTX) - The 30-year-old man recovered Tuesday night from Lake Palestine has been identified as Kayvan H. Moayedi.

Henderson County Sheriff Ray Nutt tells CBS 19 that Moayedi's body was found around 11:30 p.m.

Moayedi's body was sent to Dallas for an autopsy.

Texas Parks & Wildlife are investigating the cause of the drowning. Henderson County Sheriff's Department assisted at the scene.


(KYTX) -A body of a 30-year-old man was recovered Tuesday night from Lake Palestine. 


Onlookers near Sunrise Shore boat ramp called for help at 6:30  after they saw a man struggling to stay above water about 150 yards out on the lake. They made attempts to help him after they saw him go under, but they were unable to save him.

Rusk Game Warden Captain, Mike Hanson, tells CBS19 that the body was recovered around 11:30 p.m. 

The man has been identified but no names have been released.

Authorities do believe he lived in a neighborhood around the lake.
