UPDATE: Man identified in Lake Palestine drowning


UPDATE: HENDERSON COUNTY (KYTX) - The Game Warden's Office tells CBS19 a Tyler man is dead after falling out of a boat and drowning yesterday evening.

According to Cpt. Mike Hanson, 46-year-old Frederick Perkins died when he and the woman he was fishing with fell out of their boat on Lake Palestine. She was wearing her life jacket but he wasn't.

Crews recovered Perkins body shortly before midnight.

The Henderson County Sheriff's Office, Noonday Fire and Rescue and Game Wardens all responded to the drowning call.


TYLER (TYLER MORNING TELEGRAPH) - Crews are searching for a person in Lake Palestine.

Henderson County Sheriff Ray Nutt said game wardens are searching Lake Palestine for a person. He said to his knowledge no one had been found as of Sunday at 10 p.m.

Authorities have not released a name, gender or other details about the missing person but did say game wardens are looking near the Point Royal subdivision in the Chandler area.
