UPDATE: Man sought in Bowie Co. home burglary turns himself in


UPDATE: (KYTX) - Douglas Kyle Burnett, suspected of stealing property from a home in Maud, went to the Bi-State Justice Building Thursday afternoon along with his attorney Joe Tyler to turn himself in on a warrant for Burglary of a Habitation.

Burnett was arrested around 2 p.m. and Judge Nancy Talley set his bond at $75,000.00.

BOWIE COUNTY (KYTX) - Investigator David Biggar has recovered 13 firearms, a crossbow, and a large amount of ammunition taken in the burglary that occurred in Maud around the old Crystal Springs Water Park.

Property stolen in another burglary in the Simms area was also recovered.

Citizens tips information have assisted in locating the items as well as giving information on a suspect.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Douglas Kyle Burnett for Burglary of a Habitation. Burnett is a white male around 5'9" tall weighing 150 pounds with a date of birth of 05-16-1989. Burnett is aware of the warrant is avoiding contact with law enforcement.

It is believed that Burnett did not act alone in these crimes.

Anyone with information on Burnett's whereabouts is asked to call 911 so he can be apprehended, and anyone with information about Burnett's accomplices can contact Investigator David Biggar at 903.628.6815.
