Update: McDonald's Worker Punched by Customer after purchasing food

TYLER (KYTX) - Tyler police are investigating an assault after a McDonalds employee was punched by a customer after he ordered and paid for his food.

Shortly before midnight Monday June 23, Tyler Police were called to the McDonalds at 180 S SW Loop 323.

Upon arrival officers were first told a black male had robbed one of the restaurant employees. Upon further investigation police determined the female employee was assaulted, and a robbery did not occur.

The suspect was waiting outside the business when one of the employees exited to deliver food to the waiting customer. The suspect approached the employee punched her and took the food out of her hands. He then ran from the store north bound.

The suspect was described as a thin black male wearing a white tee shirt and orange ball cap. He was approximately 5'07 to 5'09 and 140 to 150 pounds.

Police have information on who was involved in this incident and will be following up on this case classified as an Assault.
