Moose Auto Glass goes up in flames, at least 4 cars destroyed

UPDATE: Tyler Fire Investigators have concluded their investigation of a two alarm fire at Moose Auto Glass in Tyler.

The fire appears to have started in the middle of the building, but the cause is still undetermined at this time.

The garage area of the business is a total loss with moderate damage to the office area also.  Structural collapse occurred during the fire and hampered the extinguishment as well as the investigation.

The fire was called in just after 7 p.m. Monday. When firefighters arrived, crews saw heavy fire and smoke coming from the building.

Fire crews said a person driving by saw the smoke and called it in. By the time firefighters arrived, flames were coming from the middle of the business.

Fire officials said a fire wall kept the fire from spreading to the outer sides of the business..

Moose Auto Glass located on Timms Street specialized in auto glass, auto upholstery, window tinting and a list of other car aesthetic services and has been a part of the community for nearly six decades.
