UPDATE: Off duty probation officer robbed by gunpoint in Nacogdoches

UPDATE: NACOGDOCHES (KYTX) - The victim who was robbed at gunpoint is employed as a probation officer.

He was off duty at the time, not acting in an official capacity. According to Nacogdoches PD, it does not appear that his employment status had any connection with this crime.

It happened in the 1100 block of Shawnee. Police say the victim had parked in a parking lot and was walking in front of a light-colored Impala. That's when a black man got out of the passenger's side of the car and threatened the victim with a handgun.

The suspect took the victim's wallet and a handgun that the victim was wearing. The suspect then got back into the Impala and it fled southbound on Shawnee. The suspect is described as 5'11" tall and weighing 110 pounds.

The victim was licensed to carry the handgun. No injuries were reported and the case remains under investigation.
