UPDATE: Palestine man indicted for attempting to take school bus with elementary children

 

UPDATE: PALESTINE (KYTX) - According to the Anderson County Criminal District Attorney's office, 30-year-old Cedrick Brenard Lewis was indicted on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 for aggravated kidnapping and unauthorized use of a vehicle.

In December, Lewis allegedly jumped into the driver's seat of a Palestine school bus while it was loaded with students.


(KYTX) - A drunk man who allegedly jumped into the driver's seat of a Palestine school bus Tuesday morning--won't be getting out of jail anytime soon.

Cedrick Lewis is being held in the Anderson County Jail on a more than $1.5 million bond.

Lewis is charged with attempted aggravated kidnapping, a second-degree felony.

The Palestine emergency management coordinator says two students got into an argument at the Timber Crest Apartment bus stop Tuesday morning. The bus driver turned the bus off and went outside to stop the argument.

When he did-- Lewis allegedly jumped in the drivers seat.
