UPDATE: LONGVIEW (KYTX) - Longview Police have released the name of the officer in the August 7 fatal shooting at Akin Park.

The Officer involved is Johnny Lyons. He is a 22 year veteran of the Longview Police Department according to Kristie Brian.

An autopsy reveals the suspect in an officer involved shooting in Longview died of gunshot wounds to the trunk and left upper extremity.

The autopsy on 23-year-old Regan Marshall Wagner was performed by Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas.

The Longview Police Officer involved in the shooting has been placed on paid administrative leave for the duration of the investigation being conducted by the Texas Rangers.

On August 7, 2014 at 3:52 p.m., a Longview Police Officer conducted a traffic stop in the 400 Block of Delwood Drive near Akin Park. During the traffic stop there was gunfire. The suspect was transported to Longview Regional Hospital with life-threatening injuries. The Officer involved in the shooting was not injured. The investigation has been turned over to the Texas Rangers.
