UPDATE: Rain, thunderstorms moving out of East Texas



UPDATE: EAST TEXAS (KYTX) - A strong upper-level low pressure system is moving across the southern plains and dragging a dryline through Texas. Thunderstorms are developing along the dryline in East Texas. Some storms have become severe, but the activity is shifting eastward rapidly and moving out of our area at mid-afternoon.

A Tornado Watch was issued until 8 p.m. for much of Louisiana and a small part of southern Arkansas.Only San Augustine, Sabine and Shelby counties in East Texas were included.

There could be a few showers in our area tonight as moisture wraps around the low as it crosses Arkansas. The rest of the week looks mostly sunny and cool with highs in the 50s and lows in the 30s through the weekend. Morning lows will be near freezing much of the week.

EAST TEXAS (KYTX) - Good Monday morning! Today will be cloudy with a 70% chance of rain and thunderstorms - especially between 10am - 2 p.m.. Rain chances will decrease by this evening.

One or two thunderstorms could be strong along and ahead of the front by late morning through mid-afternoon. High today near 62. Lows tonight will dip to 37. Quiet and calm rest of week with highs in the 50's.
