UPDATE: Rains Co. man held on capital murder charges, bond set at $750,000

UPDATE: Brandon is being held on capital murder charges and a probation violation charge from a separate incident.

His bond is set at $750,000.



UPDATE: 1:40 AM - A man is now in custody in connection to a shooting that left his grandmother dead. DPS arrested Brandon Couch a little after 10 Wednesday night. He will be arraigned later this morning.


RAINS COUNTY (KYTX) -- The Texas Department of Public Safety and the Rains County Sheriff's office are trying to find Brandon Couch after his grandmother was found shot and killed Wednesday afternoon.  DPS says Mattie Couch, a woman in her eighties, was found by her son around 3 p.m. Wednesday at her home in Rains County southeast of the town of Point.  That's east of Lake Tawakoni. 

DPS says when deputies went to the home they found Brandon Couch in the woods nearby and he ran away.  DPS says Brandon Couch is a white man around the age of 30.  They believe he is armed and dangerous.  DPS and Rains County investigators are at the home gathering evidence in the death.  DPS and Rains County deputies are searching the area for Couch.  Call the Rains County Sheriff's Office if you know where Brandon Couch might be.  The number is (903) 473-3181.
