UPDATE: Sex offender, bail jumper turns himself in

UPDATE (6/18/13):

Tyler police confirmed Tuesday that 45-year-old Tracy Todd Smith was back in custody after 6 days on the run. The police department credited Smith County District Attorney's Investigator Cory Hoover with tracking Smith down after he jumped bail.

Issued by the Tyler Police Department:

TYLER (KYTX) - Tyler Police Department is seeking the whereabouts of Tracy Todd Smith, 45, who is a registered Sex Offender in Tyler. 

On Wednesday, June 12, 2013, Smith appeared in Judge Kerry Russell's Court for a hearing on a 2nd degree felony charge;  "Fail to Comply with Sex Offender Registration Life/Annually".    

Court proceedings on this case ended with testimony during the morning session.  When court convened for the afternoon session Smith failed to return to court.  

The jury convicted Smith of the offense listed above and 7th District Court Judge Kerry Russell issued a bond forfeiture warrant on Smith.
