Update: Smith Co. man accused of burglary shortly after release from jail arrested

UPDATE: SMITH CO. (KYTX) - A Smith County man who was recently released from jail is back behind bars after his arrest on a burglary warrant. 

41-year-old Aaron Bowers, of Tyler was taken into custody Tuesday, September 8, 2014 after officers received a tip he was at a scrap yard in the 4100 block of the Chandler Highway in Tyler. He was arrested without incident, and his being held in the Smith County jail on a $150,000 bond.

He had been serving time in jail on a Criminal Trespassing charge.

At approximately 1:48am on Friday, August 15, 2014, Smith County Sheriff's Office Dispatch received a call regarding a burglary of a mobile home located in the 12800 block of Highway 31 West in the western part of Smith County.

Patrol deputies responded to the call and took the victim's statement. The homeowner said she returned home to find the suspect fleeing her residence with various household items and running into the woods behind her home.

The homeowner said she recognized Bowers, as he has frequently been in the neighborhood due to him having relatives living nearby.
