UPDATE: TransCanada release statement in regards to Daryl Hannah's arrest in Wood County

UPDATE October 5, 2012: TransCanada released a statement:

(KYTX) - It is unfortunate Ms. Hannah and other out-of-state activists have chosen to break the law, putting their own safety and the safety of others at risk – not to mention trying to prevent thousands of Americans from providing for their families. If Ms. Hannah and the other protestors had their way, thousands of Americans would be thrown out of work.

UPDATED (KYTX) -- Actress Daryl Hannah is now booked in the Wood County jail. She's charged with criminal trespassing and resisting arrest.

We're told Hannah is with an elderly landowner and they both laid down in front of an excavator machine to get the operator to stop.

The off-duty officers asked them to leave but they refused, and then were arrested. It may be Friday morning until they can bond out of jail.

WOOD COUNTY (KYTX) - A spokesman for actress Daryl Hannah says she's been arrested in Wood Country for protesting against the tar sands pipeline.

A group, including Hannah, were blocking construction equipment.  Wood County Sheriff Deputies arrested the group just after 4pm.

CBS 19 has a crew on the way to Wood County.  We'll have the latest tonight at 6 & 10.
