Update: Tyler man indicted for continuous sexual abuse of a child

UPDATE: TYLER (KYTX) - A Smith County Grand Jury has indicted a Tyler man on a charge of aggravated sexual abuse of a child.

The indictment accuses Austin of continuous sexual abuse of a child over a period of almost nine years.

40-year-old Victor Michael Austin remains in the Smith County jail on $1,000,000 bond.

On February 7, detectives from the Smith County Sheriff's Office arrested Austin, on charges of Aggravated Sexual Assaultof A Child.

On February 6, a child made an outcry that she was being sexually abused. The initial report was generated and the child was forensically interviewed. 

The child again made an outcry of repeated sexual abuse.

 A warrant was issued Austin by 241st District Court Judge Jack Skeen.

On February 7, Austin was located and arrested.  An interview was completed with the suspect and he admitted to sexually abusing the child.
