UPDATE: Whitehouse teacher, students injured in accident involving drunk driver

UPDATE: WHITEHOUSE (KYTX)- Whitehouse High School faculty member, Holly Mann, a male WHS junior, and a female WHS sophomore, are all continuing to recover in a Houston hospital after the three vehicle accident Saturday night.

The WHS junior, underwent one successful surgery Sunday and according to family members was set to undergo a second surgery today.

Mann also underwent successful surgery Sunday on her leg.

Sunday afternoon, Whitehouse ISD administrators visited the students, faculty member and the families of those who remain hospitalized in Houston. After visiting with those still hospitalized, Whitehouse ISD officials remain optimistic regarding their recoveries.

Several of the students that were involved in the accident have returned to school today.

Whitehouse ISD counselors and faculty have made themselves readily available on campus today to speak with students regarding Saturday's accident.


WHITEHOUSE (KYTX) - A Whitehouse teacher and two students were injured Saturday after being hit by a drunk driver, according to a press release from Whitehouse ISD.

People who knows the teacher told CBS 19,the teacher Holly Mann, and the students were returning from a conference when they were hit in Wharton. All three were air lifted to a Houston area hospital. 

Several other people were also injured but were treated and released from a Wharton hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Mann has broken legs, broken pelvis and other injuries. One of the students is in critical condition. There is no word on the condition of the second student.

Two Whitehouse Independent School District vehicles that were transporting Whitehouse High school students were involved in a vehicle accident late Saturday night in Wharton Texas.

All parents of students involved in the accident are aware of the situation.

The vehicles were traveling from Corpus Christi where they had attended a Career and Technical Education Contest.
