BIRMINGHAM, AL (CNN) - A UPS cargo plane crashed this morning on approach to the airport in Birmingham, killing two.
Birmingham's mayor says the pilot and co-pilot were killed in the A300 aircraft crash. He says it does not appear weather was a factor, since it was calm at the time. The crash happened on a street parallel to the Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International airport property.
The FAA says the plane was headed to Birmingham from Louisville, Kentucky. The NTSB says it's sending a team to the scene to investigate.
