Upshur Co. auditor resigns; County Clerk appointed to take her place

UPSHUR COUNTY (KYTX) - The auditor for an East Texas county that's been struggling with finances this year has resigned from her post.

An Upshur County Commissioner confirms Janet Tucker resigned Monday, and County Clerk Brandy Lee was appointed to take her place.

You'll recall Upshur County faced massive budget cuts after a nearly 1 million dollar shortfall earlier this year.

But Commissioner Cole Hefner was unaware of a reason for Tucker's resignation.

Hefner says a replacement for Lee will be appointed soon.
