Usher's Son Survives Pool Incident

Usher's Son Survives Pool Incident

ATLANTA, GA (CNN) - Singer Usher's 5 year old son is hospitalized this morning after almost drowning in Atlanta Monday.

The child's aunt, Rena Odin, made a frantic call to 9-1-1.

"My nephew was in the pool and he went -- I couldn't get him, I couldn't, I couldn't get him, I tried to get him. They got him and they're doing CPR on him," Odin told dispatchers.

Police say the child fell to the bottom of the pool at Usher's home and got stuck in the drain. A worker at the home pulled the child to safety and administered CPR.

Usher's former stepson died last year in a watercraft accident on a Georgia lake. Meanwhile, Tameka Foster Raymond, the 5-year old's mother, has been granted an emergency hearing for custody of the 5-year-old.
