UT Tyler Police Department collects toys for The Children's Advocacy Center

(KYTX) - The UT Tyler Police Department is helping bring happiness to kids this holiday.

For the second year, the department is holding a toy drive for the Children's Advocacy Center of Smith County.

You can donate new, unwrapped toys for kids two and older. They will go to children who have been victims of sexual or physical abuse.

"This time of year it's so important for the children to have some type of happiness and joy in their life and if we can contribute to that, that's what we want to do and that's important to the department," says Johnna Thedford with the UT Tyler Police Department.

You can also donate children's items like diapers, clothing, or bottles.

Bring toys or items to the UT Tyler Police Department on Varsity Dr. up until December 5th.
