EAST TEXAS (KYTX) - You may have heard about an exciting partnership going on at our station... CBS19 is teaming up with the production company ICB Live to broadcast 11 East Texas football games in 10 weeks.

Games will air on our sister station KCEB-TV also called METV. They'll also be available to watch online.  Viewers will be able to watch three of the most popular high school football teams in East Texas.

High school football season is about to be in full swing. Tanisha Saenz says she's waited all year for it.

"It's so exciting to go out there and see them, and play. And, I think they're going to do an amazing job this year."

Whether you're a John Tyler Lions fan...

"I believe they can go all the way." says Saenz.

A supporter of the Robert E. Lee Red Raiders...

Or cheering on the Longview Lobos...

You'll be able to watch them in action over and over this season.

Tyler ISD Athletic Director Rod Kaspar says this is great news.

"It's really an exciting situation for the district and our teams that are going to be out there playing. The kids are going to get some exposure."

"Texas football is big." says Bob Green, ICB Live vice president of operations. "East Texas football is huge."

Those with the production company hope spotlighting East Texas talent can serve as a recruiting effort.

"You've got- already- tons of players who have come out of the East Texas area who have gone onto college and have gone onto the pros." says producer J.P. Gregoriew.

Longview ISD Athletic Director John King says this is helpful for the entire region.

"I don't think it's a big secret that colleges are dipping in to East Texas now. They're starting to come out of the metroplex and find a way to East Texas."

Gregoriew says this partnership was an obvious choice for the company.

"We chose East Texas because of the climate of the fans, the excitement that is already generated out here in the East Texas area."

"Oh yeah. They're always excited." says King.

The games will run at 11:30 p.m. every Friday night right after the football show, then replay at noon on Saturday and 7 p.m. on Sunday.

We will also carry two live Thursday games- John Tyler on September 26th and then Longview vs. Robert E. Lee on October 31st.

Also, all the games will be archived online for you to watch anytime you want..
